One our C Dory friends caught two very nice Cobias out on the reefs last week. He was on one of our very fuel efficient C Dory 19 footers . The fish were some of the first we have seen of the spring migration . One of the neatest things about the whole trip was with three full size people aboard, and full gear and all the other essentials like a baitwell full of bait and water as well as ice etc…. and running at least 70-80 miles in fairly bumpy seas , the fuel burn was only 25 Gallons . Thats 3 MPG plus and they came home with about 130Lbs of fish . That breaks the usual sportfishing rule of fish that end up costing $50 a Lb or more . Thats why we love our fuel efficient boats . Not that you will do that well every time, but the fishing stays somewhat affordable . See the fish here
