I went off shore about 50 miles on a trolling trip last Sunday in search of Wahoo and Dolphin . We definatly found the dolphin along a classic summer weedline south of Cape San Blas in about 160′ of bluegreen 87 degree water. We caught about 9 , none were big ,but it is always fun to see em racing across the spread to your offerings. The lure of choice that day was the little green and yellow rattlejet . Thats what they wanted . so we tied a few more on and they produced . We made a stop on the way home on some live bottom for some snappers and had some bonus black seabass as well . All in all it was a good trip. We high speed trolled for wahoo but did not find em that day . You cant catch everything, every time ! I spoke with professional guide Coy Shiver of Eastpoint yesterday and he has had some succesful bottom fishing trips in around 95 feet of water for snapper, grouper, and kings with a few nice size dolphin [ on the flatline] thrown in for bonus!! Ill bet he has some happy customers .
