Perhaps you have heard , perhaps you havent . A federal judge overturned the all species grouper closure on the day it was to begin . Thats good news for us bottom bouncers that enjoy our winter shallow water grouper fishing is we dont have to worry about more fish police. Of course the state of Florida was not going to enforce it anyways, or so it was said .Red grouper is still closed in federal waters and as far as I know the florida regs remain the same as the july regulations . Please check your local authority to make sure , however .The inshore guys probably wouldnt have been affected by this , but it was a blow to the charter industry as well as the saltwater boat industry in the southeast . Word was that the data used for the original closure was bad . My experiences would corroborate that as we catch lots of red grouper . So… pick a nice day and go catch some dinner , and dont hesitate to utilize and enjoy our great grouper fishery .
