Do I detect a soupçon of sarcasm?

Nice catch, although I bet you would have preferred an exciting hook-up to a big billfish.

I think you (and your cat) will find that the Golden Tile is a close second to a good grouper dinner, perhaps even on a par. When the season is open and the fish is available to the consumer it can be (or should be, anyway) a bargain, since the ex-vessel price is often as much as $2/lb less than grouper.

Also, you better get those triggers while you can. Gray Triggerfish is next on NMFS's "hit list" and will no doubt become scarce and overfished as soon as they run enough "scientific models" to get one to come out the way they want it to.

Thank you, that is great to hear , ever since I had my first ride on a Champion 21 Bay a couple years ago , I was impressesd. Their marketing for the Florida Market has a long way to go , but the demo tells the story . I have a 24 demo right now and loaned it to a guide friend of mine and he still wont give it back . We are working with them to make a few changes [minor stuff] and I think we will pick up the line for '08. I also have never ridden a better Bay Boat ..........If you are up in the area [Apalachicola/St George Island] come see us and I will announce the progress of our relationship with Champion as it progresses.

I have fished a 2006 24 Bay Champ since Sep 2005. The boat has a 250 E-TEC for power. I can fish my 24 Bay Champ in a foot of water in the morning and then run offshore in the afternoon. Not many bay boats can honestly do that. Champ is the best ride out there and I wet tested all the big names before I bought my Champ. The only downfall for me with Champ has been the lack of dealers in Florida. The factory has provided me with great support. The dealer closest to me is not equipped to deal with the E-TEC or the big bay boat so if at all possible I deal directly with Champion's warranty department. You will not find more helpful people than Jim Porter the Florida area rep and Stephanie Dinkins the Champion Brand Manager. Since Champion started advertising in the Florida Sportsman in March I have had numerous inquiries from other boat owners about my Champ. It does feel like Genmar is trying to do the right thing and give the Champion brand equal exposure as the Rangers get. It would be nice to get a new dealer and see some more of the best kept secrets (Champs) on the water. Disclaimer: I Do not work for Champion or Genmar.

Hello Marc,
Appreciate the atlanta display of the C Dory. Hope it went well for you guys. Great sales team . Very professional and knowlegeable. Spent time with us and were courteous. We most certainly will purchase from you when OUR time arrives. I've been spreading the word through my friendships of the DORY and where they can get one(Welfing), and I hope sends you a sale or two. I met a gentelman in Tybee Island georgia that through his laptop in camp accessed your website. He's on Vacation from Michigan and was headed to fla. , He was a boat capptain on greta lakes and I would'nt be surprised if he did'nt visit you before he returns home,
Who knows he may hook up and buy one on the spot. He had the rig to do so and was complaining about the fact he was mmiserable with out a boat with so much water at his hands. I sent him to the Halcyon Days blog and showed him the exact set up(F250 diesel, slide in camper ect.)

Anyways Best to you.

Well , I am not sure if you are looking for C Dory updates or C Ranger Tug updates , but we have been very successful with the C Dorys and are anxiously awaiting the Ranger Tug 25 footer . We have a 21 Foot C Ranger Tug here at the dealership and a number of C Dorys to see and demo . The boats are built like tanks , have a great following that enjoys their time on the water and gather in beautiful places in a ritual call C Dory Gatherings . Our first one will be Oct 20-22 in Apalachicola . If you have not seen the website www.c-brats.com , you might take a look . If I havnt answered your questions , let me know . You can e mail me at marc@wefings.com
