Yesterday, Marc Grove of Wefing's Marine led a small convoy of Ranger Tugs down the highway to Tampa, Florida for the Tampa Boat Show, September 5 -7, 2014 at the Tampa Convention Center in downtown Tampa. This show is one of our favorites and is located in West Florida's Port city of Tampa, the third largest city in the state of Florida, a great place for a weekend of boat shows and general merry-making. The show features many brands and dealers with boats on display both inside the Convention Center and in-the-water at the beautiful docks and Marina behind the Convention Center. We've been doing the show for a number of years, the displays, the features, the special events and promotions, as well as the perfect venue, have been bringing us back each year. This show has something for everyone and you do not have to be in the market to buy a boat to stop by the show and enjoy the lineup of things to do. The show, and Tampa, Florida itself, is a great place to spend a weekend or more.
This show features Fishing Seminars with a number of Florida Charter Boat Captains as well as The Progressive Boat School which will have "Fred's Shed" with interactive boating seminars and demos ranging from "Gateway to Boating" to "Managing Your Boat's System" and the ever popular "Docking & Line Handling" you are sure to find something of interest to you at the Tampa Boat Show.
Possibly, meeting a commercial-crabber/reality-show captain is more up your alley? Well at this weekend's show you will have the opportunity to meet Johnathan Hillstrand, co-captain of the Time Bandit fishing vessel featured on Discovery Channel’s top-rated reality series Deadliest Catch. As you can see from the photo below, we of course will be far too busy working the show to spend time schmoozing with very large TV Personalities/Alaskan Crabbers. Honest.

Big shout out to our friend Red! Once again our friend Red will be in Tampa and he has assured us he will be at the Convention Center, be happy to see us, and be ready to help us with our boats in any way he can. Marc first met Red when he did the Tampa show for the first time and the man, a true inspiration and "good guy", has been a good friend of Wefing's ever since. Marc first posted a story about meeting Red on his "Fish Tales" blog back in Sept. of 2010. You can read that here.
Come see us at the Show and plan on spending the day. We will be in Slips DB10 - 12 and DB 30 with a Ranger R21 EC, a Ranger R27, and a Ranger R31, all loaded in the usual Wefing's manner with both factory and aftermarket custom rigging, features and additions to these typically loaded Ranger models.
Photos of these and similar Ranger Tugs can be found on our Flickr Pages or on our Ranger Tugs Pinterest Page
Thanks for your interest in Wefing's Marine. We'll
see you on the water!
