Marc Grove, the President of Wefing's Marine, came to Florida in 1999. He's been an avid fisherman for most of his life and has been quickly adapting to the Gulf of Mexico's different weather patterns and fisheries after fine tuning the art of catching salmon, tuna, halibut and billfish in the Pacific while living in Northern California. Marc has been involved in the Marine Industry in one capacity or another for 18 years. He brought a wealth of experience with him when he came to Apalachicola to take over the Wefing's Marine business which was at the time mostly a commercial ship's chandlery as well as a local landmark. Marc found it increasingly necessary to direct the business away from the declining commercial sector and into the recreational marine sales and service industry and in 2003 made the decision to build a brand new facility across the Apalchicola Bay Bridge from the original store, dedicating himself and Wefing's to becoming the premier full service marine dealership in the region. Of course, Wefing's still supports the local commercial fishermen as well as all segments of the boating community.

Charlie Holtom arrived in this area permanently in mid 2003 seeking “semi-retirement”.
