10/23 - 10/25 - 4th Annual Gulf Coast GatheringJohn and Sherry's place on the River in Apalachicola. Looking for good company,good weather,good food, and good fun!
So went the announcement Marc posted recently on the C-Brats forum. Those who have made one of the Gulf Coast Gatherings in the past already know that John's place is in a beautiful spot on the Apalachicola River just above the Apalachicola Railroad bridge and that it has dockage for a number of gathering goers as well as a large pavilion on the river bank that has been the sight of many a demolished oyster, low country boil, smoked mullet and, for the early enough birds, many a hearty breakfast cooked up by John or Marc or both. For those who have not made a Gulf Coast Gathering, you need to make an all out effort to attend one of these fun events. Meet some great cruising folks, see some C-Dorys that get used by people who really do love their boats, trade tricks and secrets of cruising and boating, eat some good food, enjoy some good company, and take the traditional Gathering cruise, led by John. around some of the local waterways and backwaters.  Marc has blocked some discounted rooms at Apalachicola's Waterstreet Hotel and Marina and Curt Blair, the Hotel owner and gracious host, has also agreed to discount the price for overnight docking for those who would prefer to keep their boats in town. Waterstreet Hotel has blocked out 10 rooms and slips for us. They are reserved at the group rate till the 23rd of Sept. at which time they revert to regular availability. Sun - Thurs is $149.00 per night [reg $169]and C Brat slips are $1 a foot [reg $1.50] Fri and Sat Night are $169 per night [reg $189]with same $1 slip per Foot. price.
