Streaming video takes a high speed connection and a fairly fast CPU as well as a pretty good amount of RAM. If you are working with a dial up connection and an aging PII or even PIII machine running Windows 98 or an earlier version and 128MB of RAM, or with WebTV, then you are most likely not going to be able to satisfactorily view these videos, sorry.
If you have a modern CPU and a high speed DSL or Cable connection and Windows XP or Vista and a minimum of 512MB of SDRAM, then you should have no troubles that you can't solve easily enough.
All videos are streamed with a simple .swf player. You need a flash plug-in in your browser to see them. If you don't have one, it is available here.
This video library has been tested with Firefox 2, IE 7, and Opera 9.26. If you have an older version of one of those browsers and you are sure you have a recent version of Flash and the videos still won't play, you can upgrade any of those browsers for free from the Help section of your browser's menu bar.
If the video plays but stutters, stops, and plays but not smoothly, it is likely that the player is playing faster than your connection is downloading. If one is available, you can try the smaller (minimally lower bandwidth) version of the video. You can also force the video to pre-buffer more by starting the video and then pausing it (by clicking on the pause button which looks like two vertical bars and appears at the bottom left of the video player screen when you move your mouse pointer over the video). Wait a few seconds, which should give the video extra time to "pre-buffer" and then start the video again. If the player catches up to the download buffer it will start stuttering again and you will need to pre-buffer it a bit more. You should quickly be able to get a feel for how much you need to buffer for your particular machine and connection.
If you have a good machine and a fast connection and enjoy viewing video in high quality, you might want to explore the Divx section of our video library. Playing divx video may require you to download a special browser plug-in but the quality of the streamed video is near perfect High Definition video.
However you choose to view our video library we hope you enjoy it and find it useful and informative as well as entertaining. Check back soon, we hope to continue to build our video library and to add to it on a regular basis.
Good luck and enjoy Wefing's Video Library.
