Thats what it was like for my friend Brad and I yesterday as we went on a quest to catch a few dinner fish . We loaded up the little 13 Whaler with a 5 gallon bucket of live shrimp from Fisherman’s Choice in Eastpoint, grabbed a couple favorite light tackle spinning rods and off we went to the railroad bridge about 3 mile above town . We caught some nice hybrid bass and as a bonus towards the end of our scheduled fishing. the Sheephead started biting . Now 3 or 4 Lb Sheephead on 6 Lb test in close proximity to bridge structure is a fun challenge . We won the battles yesterday but its not always that way !We got about 6 fish apiece [enough for a couple meals and then started back down the river and noticed a bald eagle taking off from a tree . We were running the same speed the Eagle was flying and we ran with it for at least a mile just below its majestic flight path . Thats what makes this area special. Opportunities like that . It met its mate and we continued to the hill to pull the boat . What a day……..
